Russian hack-and-leak operation

Last week I was informed of an attempt to hack my secure email account. I am not certain if the attack was successful, but an individual associated with Russian state media has circulated content purporting to be from me, which may be edited, distorted or fake.

Hacking is a criminal offence. The circumstances of the hack attempt suggest a state or state-aligned actor may be responsible.

I have reported the crime to the police, and will not be making further comment on it. If approached with purported content, be aware that it can only have been obtained criminally.

I will continue to report, analyse and comment on Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine and to expose websites disseminating Kremlin disinformation.
